Board of Directors (Updated Sep 26th, 2011)

The Dallas North Community Club, Inc., a Texas non-profit corporation, has owned and operated the Texas Pool since the pool first openned in 1960. The corporation's board members serve as volunteers, maintaining the pool facilities, marketing the pool, and hiring and overseeing the pool staff. We are always looking for volunteers, and we would like your feedback on how we operate the pool.

Please notice we  are always looking for pool members who may want to serve as Board Members or assistants to current board members and get involved!

2012 Board of Directors

Doe Kaczmarek, President

J.J. Dobrott, Vice-President/Memberships

Seven years ago I was looking for a fun place to bring my children who LOVE to swim, where I could meet friends, and enjoy the summer. A friend suggested the Texas Pool. I had never heard of it, but came by to look anyway. We have loved coming up to the pool every summer since then.

Four years ago, the board of directors had a general meeting where they discussed the desperate position the pool was in and that they may not have to funds to open the following summer. The board changed hands and after many hours of hard work, the pool was kept afloat that next summer. The summer of 2009, I was asked to join the board as “a member at large”. Again, we were struggling with finances, but put in many volunteer hours and some creative parties and the pool was again open for another season.

Next I was appointed the position of Life Guard Liaison. For the past two years, I have been responsible to hiring the lifeguards and making sure expectations of the membership were met. It has been a rewarding experience watching these individuals grow and succeed. (Most of them in their first jobs).

I am looking to coming back for another 3 year term as I feel there is still some unfinished work to be done. There are so many great ideas to help this pool grow for another 50 years and I am excited to be a part of that!

Laura McKee, C.P.A., Treasurer

Janet Moos, R.N., Secretary

A Texas Pool Member for 14 years, Janet has served on the Texas Pool Board of Directors for 4 years. She has experience in marketing, management, education, and public service. While serving with the Texas Pool, Janet has been responsible for social media, news media contacts, news broadcasts, fliers, forms, and the E-Newsletter. In 2009, she was voted an All-Star in PR at Constant Contact. Janet is a Registered Nurse (Trauma/ICU, Community Health), a Catholic homeschooling mother of 5 native Texans, and wife to Randy Moos for 22 years. She loves the sea, classical literature, natural foods, and a 5K run through the neighborhood. Supporting our nation’s military, Janet also volunteers with Soldier’s Angels and (in her dreams) flies with the Blue Angels. Living in the Lone Star State, Janet believes that it is an honor to promote, preserve, and protect the Texas Pool for future generations of Texans.

Jesse Coon, E.M.T., Lifeguards

My name is Jesse Coon and I serve on the Texas Pool board as Lifeguard Manager.

Being only 37 years old, I have already had a full and blessed life. I am married to my best friend, Elisabeth. We have 3 wonderful children, Joseph, Jovin, and Julia.

I was born and raised in Iowa. I then served my country through the U.S. Navy for 4 years. I was able to see places like: Cuba, Jamaica, Guam, Spain, and Italy, not to mention many other places across the United States.

While serving with the Seabee Battalion in Gulfport, Mississippi, my life took a dramatic turn when I gave my life to Jesus and began living for Him rather than myself. I finally felt my life had purpose and direction.

After my honorable discharge, I received an associates degree in Fire Science and started my childhood dream of fighting fires and helping others in South Mississippi.

In 1999, I married a Texas Girl, so of course it was only a matter of time when we would return to Texas. That time came in 2004 when The City of Plano hired me as a firefighter/paramedic. I am currently at station 5 with the Haz Mat team. I also serve as the Liaison for the Fire Dept Chaplains.

Besides volunteering with the Texas Pool, I also volunteer with Meals on Wheels, delivering to the needy in Plano.

The 3 things in my life that I truly enjoy are spending time with my family, working out, and helping others, whether that is through fighting fires, medical emergencies, or natural disasters. Those 3 things define who Jesse really is.

James Sadler, Facilities

Jim Sadler was born on probation some years ago, and has been on the run from the law ever since.

Along the way, he found himself on the 13 year college degree program and, eventually- in 1989, did manage to earn a BBA in Finance and Marketing. Obviously having bribed someone, he even pulled off the trick of graduating cum laude.

Overly influenced by the television show LA Law, and feeling a bit cocky after beating a traffic ticket, he entered Texas Tech School of Law, where he somehow distinguished himself somewhat in mock trial competitions and served on the Board of Barristers (don’t be too impressed, so did about 24 other students). He muddled through law school, somehow surviving and earning his JD in 1992.

Other than marrying his much put-upon wife, Angela, and being the father of two great “they-must-have-got-all-their-genes-from-their-mother” kids- Allison and Lauren- it’s pretty much all been downhill for him since birth.

His talents largely consist of an uncanny ability to really, really tick off opposing attorneys and occasionally win a copywriting award or two. To his credit, he can drive a nail with a hammer, can read and comprehend most directions, and kids don’t seem to think he smells too bad. And, if you are interested—let’s be honest, you probably aren’t all that interested-- he can tell you all about what actually happened at the Battle of Thermopylae, which was popularized in the film 300.

He is a Christian, who frequently stumbles and fumbles at being one, but keeps trying in the hope that God is actually merciful, or that no one might notice when he dies and tries to slip into heaven.

When not enjoying time with the wife and kids, or with whoever happens to be at the Texas Pool, he sometimes hangs out with his friend, Kevin. The two of them drink an occasional alcoholic beverage while discussing stuff no one else cares about and complaining about the fact that Snuffers now offers two types of buns and two different sizes of hamburgers (I think it’s called “old man syndrome”).

He’s studied boxing (more like had his head used as a speed bag by an opponent), a little Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a few other martial arts, and is a first degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Back when he competed in the martial arts, he did somehow win two gold medals, four silver medals (he believes this gives him a lot in common with Bert Hinkler; a guy who is the answer to a very obscure trivia question), and one bronze medal at various tournaments, possibly proving that referees at the amateur level can be bribed with very little money.

However, please do not ask him to do a jump kick, as he will no doubt pull a hamstring in attempting to do so.
