Sixty years ago in Plano, Texas, a now famous Texan, W. Herbert Hunt, driving North on Central expressway gazed out upon the vast acres of ranch land, and had a vision. That vision would later transform the area into what would become Central Plano and Dallas’ Telecom Corridor. Nestled in one of Plano’s first neighborhoods, between President George Bush Turnpike and Central Expressway, the Texas Pool was designed to be an innovative promotional real estate concept that gave birth to a Texas-sized tradition.
Today, help is needed to restore and support this local landmark. Located just around the corner from Historic Downtown Plano, the Texas Pool provides a saltwater summertime oasis for families and a tourism boost with economic benefit to the Dallas area and City of Plano.
