All Aquatic Programs are On hold for the 2020 summer season
due to COVID-19
The Texas Pool offers a variety of aquatic and recreational programs including swim lessons for water babies, youth, and adults plus Yoga and Water Yoga, Discover Scuba, Discover Mermaids, Water and Beach Volleyball and Chess Club. Swim lessons begin the first week of June and run in 2 week sessions throughout the summer. A nonrefundable Aquatics Program registration fee of $25 is required to hold class space/dates. Authentic Texas Pool Swim Lessons for Summer 2020
The Texas Pool's very own WSI and Lifeguard swim instructors will be teaching swim lessons for all levels of students from Baby & Me classes to first time adult swimmers.
Yoga & Aqua Yoga Classes
Yoga in the North Texas Zone with instructor Samantha from The Mat Yoga Studio will teach Wednesdays at 11 AM. FREE for Members. $10/person, Bring-a-Friend for $15 includes a day of Texas Pool swimming. We will have 10 mats available, or bring your own, and a water bottle. Summer dates coming soon!
Aqua Yoga returns to the Texas Pool in June 2020! Join us in West Texas Tuesday mornings at 11 AM Instructor Sidra is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) and has also been trained in Aqua Kriya Yoga. Aqua Yoga movements and motion, with the relaxing effects of the water promote health and happiness. Texas Pool Members are Free. Non-Members: $10 for 1 person, $15 for Bring-a-Friend. Mermaids & Pirates
Mermaid Fin Classes and Mermaid & Pirate Birthday Party Appearances are available at the Texas Pool this summer! The Texas Pool is one of the only Mermaid monofin friendly pools in the DFW area. Live the Dream, its fins up at the Texas Pool.
Join the Chess Masters of Premier Scholar Chess for lessons and games on the Texas Pool Deck. All ages and abilities are welcome. The Texas Pool's PADI Dive Masters will be on location offering Discover Scuba introductory classes. You know you've always wanted to try saltwater diving. Here's your chance to dive into the deep end. Ages 12 and up. Students must complete medical/liability release forms. What does it take to join the Texas Pool Lifeguard Team? Positive attitude, a willingness to learn and to teach others, strong decision making skills and an interest in serving the public at a historic landmark pool. Texas Pool Lifeguards are ambassadors for the pool itself, interacting with the public and saving lives when necessary. All Texas Pool Lifeguards must be certified by the American Red Cross. The Texas Pool requires American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification and hires at age 15 and up. The City of Plano Parks and Recreation offers Lifeguard, Jr. Lifeguard, Water Safety Instructor and Learn to Swim Assistant classes throughout the year and seasonally. The American Red Cross provides information on training, locations and Lifeguard certification/re-certification.
The Texas Pool offers a Jr. Lifeguard volunteer program for youth 13-14. This program offers an opportunity for youth to get a taste of what it takes to be a Lifeguard at the Texas Pool. "JGs" help with the snack bar, greet members and guests, assist with facility care, drill, shadow the Lifeguard Team, and participate in special events. Jr. Lifeguards must be enrolled in the City of Plano Jr. Lifeguard class or have received prior certification to participate. For more information email:
